Originally, I had intended to go with Bitten, but I think I hold a certain nostalgic fondness for that one primarily because it was my introduction to the Women of the Otherworld series.
All in all, I liked the overall storyline and relationship dynamics of Dime Store Magic better. I loved Paige, the lead, who is a witch dealing with the death of her mother and the sudden inheritance of an ill-tempered teenage ward. Normally, kids and teenagers drive me nuts in books, but it didn't bother me this time. Primarily, because Savannah had a purpose, she wasn't there just to annoy, act cute, or spout random wisdom to Paige while the main plot went on around her.
